Hidden Beautiful

I think that every single  human has got something good in them.  Something beautiful.

But most times, we don’t always see that part,  do we?

Some weeks ago,  when I resumed school,  I decided that I was going to see the best in people.  I needed to see the beautiful beneath that girl who never seemed to like me and my friends for a reason I didn’t know.  I wanted to see the best in the girl who never really talked in my group.  I was going to see the good in that teacher I didn’t like, and in that boy was always complained about.

To put it plainly,  I was going to see past their facades.

Or so I thought.

After two long long weeks of school,  I suddenly realized something.  It isn’t my job to see past their  facades,  or to see the good in them, no matter how good my intentions were.

No,  instead,  I’m meant to love them, just the way they are. Not be their therapist. Not become their best friend.  God’s  going to take care of all of that.

Maybe the good  best in those people is right here,  staring at me in the face,  but I’m probably missing that because I’m looking in all the wrong places.

I like how Dexter Morgan put it;

Be careful what you think you know about someone, you’re probably wrong.

So,  I’ve decided. I’m probably not some mentalist who can read people’s minds and know how they really feel , but it doesn’t mean that I can’t be nice to people and then hope that they realize that I actually do care for them.

Because that’s how I’d like to be treated too.

Our culture has accepted two huge lies. The first is that if you disagree  with someone’s lifestyle, you must fear or hate them. The second is that to love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do.

Both are nonsense. You don’t have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.

Some Motivation To Start The Week

Hey 😊,

It’s a new week! Yaay! And even though starting a new week can be hard, it’s also the best time to decide to let go of all the stress that comes with starting a new week and actually choose to make this a week to look forward to.

So even if this week didn’t start how you wanted it to,  there are still 6 days left.

And better late than never,  right?

And to start this week,  I think we’ll all need some kind of motivation,  yeah?

So,  here are 7 quotes – for each day of the week- to keep you motivated and inspired.

¤Day One

Don’t let a bad yesterday ( or in this case,  a bad ‘last week’), ruin a good ‘today’.

¤Day Two

Great things never came out of comfort zones.

¤Day Three

The only thing standing between you and your goal is YOU. Move YOU out of the way.

¤Day Four

If we did all the things that we’re capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves – Thomas Edison

¤ Day Five

Old ways won’t open new doors.

¤Day Six

Nothing changes if nothing changes.

¤ Day Seven

You have to believe in yourself when no one else does – that makes you a winner right there. – Serena Williams

That’s it!

Now let’s make this week work!

(Do I sound like a personal trainer?!)

Beautiful words

This post was not written by me ( unfortunately 😞), but I really liked it and I’m sure you would too. Make sure to check out the blog {after reading }. Thanks.
Ima 😘

You know what the great thing about blogging is? You can’t see a person. They might think that they are the worst-looking person in the world, but when they sit and type about the things that interest them, their words are beautiful. They are able to see beyond their imperfections and finally start to see the good in the world because other people are reading their words, and not judging based on looks. They read, enjoy, comment and share with others. They converse with others and finally start to become loved and actually feel like they are worth something.

People will appreciate them and appreciate what they do. Love them and love what they do, even though they have not seen them. Care about them and care about what they do, because as soon as you type that post, you are putting a piece of yourself on the internet. People…

The Importance Of Friendship

Check out this blog 😁(after reading!).

“I believe in soulmates. I believe that God create people to be with certain people. However I don’t just believe in romantic soulmates, I believe in friendship soulmates too. And I believe I’ve met a couple of my friend soulmates.

Since I’ve started my school, I’ve met a girl who I’m sure is one of my friend soulmates. We’ve gone through a lot of similar stuff, and we just instantly clicked. We understand each other, and we know we can trust each other with anything.

Friends are important. Sure, significant others and family are also important, but when your significant other dumps you, and your family is mad at you, you turn to your friends. Friends keep you grounded, they give you a shoulder to cry on, and they make life that much more joyful.

True friendships are so important. And when you meet your friend “soulmate(s)” it’s amazing, because…

Not An Attention Whore

Does it bother you that I like attention?

I’m only human, after all.

I see the look of disgust and judgement on your face,

As you hear me laugh a bit louder

Or talk a pitch higher,

Just to get noticed.

I see,

You’ve had no problems with attention.

It’s been generous to you.

Attention follows you everywhere

Like cattle egret around ccattle

You’re bread and people are your butter.

But me?

I’ve had to work for my attention

So,  pardon me for all my efforts.

I’m sorry if I try too hard.

Look away if I don’t please you enough ,

You only leave me craving more.

And don’t give me that look.

I’m not an attention whore .

Just Need Some…… Quiet

Silence .

It was the one thing I wanted to hear, but I couldn’t.

Instead,  thoughts of you screamed in my mind,  as loud, banging drums played mercilessly in my head.

It was the one thing I wanted to hear, but I couldn’t.

The entire atmosphere was filled with the sounds of airplanes, like the buzz of giant, annoying flies and the honks of trucks and trailers killed the little quiet I had.

It was the one thing I wanted to hear, but I couldn’t.

There was no escaping the deafening noise that my neighbors called music,  as I curled up in my little corner under the makeshift tent of my pillows and blankets.

Removing Negative Vibes

Hey there,
I recently read this post ( and if you’re wondering, ‘recently’ is like 5 minutes ago) and I totally loved it. Hope you like it too.

I think as I grew up and met more people in my life, I realised that at some point you just can’t satisfy certain people anymore. And when that happens, you need to let them go.

My childhood consist of me being very happy with all my friends, and so on until I was in elementary school, but then I realised that people started to expect different things from me and that were just hard to keep up with.

I’ve tried to be what they want, to fit in every social groups, and to impress everyone and make them happy. Which is very tiring because I was not being my true self. I tried to fit in certain mold to be accepted by certain relationships.

You might noticed that right now, there are a lot of quotes and posts all over the internet about how important it is to “delete…

Ten Things I Should Have Learned By Now

Hey there,

So recently, I decided to start making lists. Not to-do lists. But lists about anything that is vaguely related to me in any way.

This list,  ‘ Ten Things I Should Have Learned By Now’, is actually inspired by someone I admire very much. Her name is Sarah Kay, she’s a poet and she performs spoken word poetry as well. I would love to tell you more about her ( because I think she’s amazing!), but I think I’ve digressed enough.  (But you can still check out her videos on YouTube or search for her on Google.)

Now onto that list……

Ten Things I Should Have Learned By Now

  • I should have learned how to start and actually have a conversation with someone ( other than myself and my family) without it getting awkward.
  • I should have learned that I’m beautiful. Probably not by world or social standards,  but beautiful in a way that only I can be.
  • I should have learned how to make nice omelettes without getting any part burnt.  I seriously don’t know why I can’t do this by now. Scrambled eggs are just way easier ( and nicer too,  if you want my opinion).
  • That friends may come and go. Especially the best ones. But memories don’t.
  • That there will be problems.  But having problems doesn’t mean I’ll have a bad day. That there will be bad days.  But bad days don’t mean bad weeks. And that there will be bad weeks. But bad weeks don’t mean bad months either.
  • I should have learned that it’s better to do things right away. Stalling and postponing the things I need to do won’t actually make them go away. ( Procrastination = My Number #2 Enemy).
  • That no one controls how and what I feel. Except I want them to. I’m the one in control of all my actions ( or reactions).
  • That it’s nice to be nice to people. Even if they’re mean.
  • I should’ve learned that if I feel like it,  it’s perfectly okay to dance in public. Even though people are staring looking. Even though I might look awkward.
  • And finally, I should have learned that God loves me no matter what. No matter how many times I mess things up, He still loves me. And always will.

And that’s it!

Do feel free to write what you think about my list in the comment section below. You can also write your own list,  if you like. I’d love to see them.

Ima 😘
