It couldn’t be.
He was too blind.
Blinded by his love for another,
And her; she hung her head so low,
Her eyes just couldn’t be seen.
Love had come, yes, but love wasn’t ready.
Yet, years after,
When, finally, his eyes had been opened
And her head had been lifted high enough for her eyes to be seen;
Love came again.
